10 Most Brutal Slasher Movie Killers

8. Chucky

Terrifier Art the Clown
MGM

(First appearance: Child's Play - 1988)

This pint-sized terror is more ferocious than his infantile stature would have you believe - almost as unbelievable as the long-standing legacy created by this proprietor of small man syndrome. He has been propelled directly into the horror movie hall of fame, etching his name into the genre for many generations to come.

Despite the farcical fundamentals that the series would go on to adopt, the initial film centres around this immortal doll, and contains a banquet of horror so gluttonous that the successive films felt like they could only offer the leftovers of these genre-defining elements. A fact proven by the franchise gradually becoming more and more lighthearted as the sequels inevitably piled up.

This isn't to say that his distinctive kills also emulate this trend, instead Chucky racked up a memorable assortment of insulting mayhem, such as when he comically strangled a man with a yo-yo, made another's jaw drop off with an axe and completely terrorised a hospital for the mentally ill.

What's potentially more twisted though is the gruesome fashion in which this killer has managed to be laid to rest time after time, rendering him a little insufficient in comparison to the rest of his macabre counterparts.
