10 Most Controversial Batman Movie Moments

7. The Entire Run-Time - Batman & Robin

Batman Forever
Warner Bros.

Alright look, ragging on Batman Forever is fun and all, but compared to Schumacher's subsequent Bat-film, it is motherfucking Citizen Kane.

After Batman Forever made oodles of cash at the box office, thanks to those lovely merchandising deals, Warner Bros, quickly greenlit a sequel with Schumacher once again at the helm. And drunk on power, Schumacher went all-in on this next film, giving audiences the disasterpiece that is Batman & Robin.

Every single minute of runtime of this film is stuffed to the brim with controversial movie moments. From even worse merchandising tie-ins like the infamous "Never leave the cave without it!", to every single pun-laden word that comes out of Arnold Schwarzenegger's icy mouth, this thing has to be seen to be believed.

Clooney takes over the cape-and-cowl from Val Kilmer here and just looks completely lost amidst the neon-lit BDSM insanity of the entire film.

It's the most detrimental film in the character's history, sending the franchise into hibernation for nearly a decade and is still widely considered one of the worst comic-book movies ever made.
