10 Most Creative Murderers In Movie History

1. Freddy Krueger €“ A Nightmare On Elm Street

When it comes to creativity they say the imagination is the limit €“ so what better murderer to take the top spot than one who exacts vengeance on unsuspecting teens by attacking them in their dreams. A fundamental part of being a successful horror film is to take something familiar and safe, and then proceed to make it scary and dangerous. If you can imagine yourself in the shoes of the victim, it makes the ordeal a significantly more terrifying experience. So when Krueger€™s horribly burned face popped up back in 1984 with his dream invasions, a whole generation of moviegoers fell victim to the petrifying possibilities of €œwhat if?€ as they switched off their lights ready for bed. As was the case with Saw, A Nightmare On Elm Street spanned numerous sequels that didn€™t hold back when trying to create more elaborate ways in which Freddy could kill his victims. With the endless possibilities of the human psyche at his disposal, Freddy will always have the upper hand when it comes to being the most creative murderer in movie history. Memorable creative murder: A teenager being pulled into his bed as he sleeps - followed by copious amounts of blood spurting from the hole. Not knowing what happened to him within the bed remains one of the most terrifying speculations in horror film history. €Yeah, well, we didn€™t even want to sleep tonight anyway, Freddy! € *sobs* Who are your most creative movie murderers?
