During her nascent career in the 1990s, she was something more of a free spirit, something made abundantly clear during the 2000 Oscar ceremony, with her being snapped planting a bizarrely intimate lip-lock on her brother, James Haven. What's more, when she won the Best Supporting Actress later on in the evening, she excitedly took to the stage, and practically the first thing she said was that she was "so in love with brother", to which the bemused audience really didn't know what to say. Naturally, their behaviour caused the tabloid press and, frankly, everyone else as well, wondering about the true nature of their relationship, though Jolie was of course quick to bat away any lascivious rumours, later remarking disappointment that "something so beautiful and pure could be turned into a circus".
