10 Most Cringeworthy Performances From Otherwise Great Actors
7. Ryan Reynolds - RIPD
Ryan Reynolds may have conquered the world with 2016's Deadpool, but it's putting it mildly to say that his career has had more than its fair share of misfires along the way. Truth be told, his misses outweigh his hits by a pretty significant margin.
Even so, the Canadian actor usually has a way of working his self-deprecating charm to elevate even the worst his CV has to offer. Yes, that includes even Green Lantern and Blade: Trinity. (Okay, maybe we'll just have to agree to disagree there.)
However, nothing - not even the tantalising prospect of Reynolds sharing the screen with the legendary Jeff Bridges - could save 2013's RIPD from being one of the blandest, most formulaic and forgettable would-be blockbusters of the past decade.
Having already suffered through his share of turkeys, it seems as though Reynolds had realised as soon as he reached the set that this one was also doomed. Watch him closely throughout; it's written all over his face. He looks like he's in genuine distress, silently screaming for someone to come and save him from this ungodly mess of a movie.
