10 Most Disappointing Horror Movie Remakes
8. A Nightmare On Elm Street (2010)
This was never, ever going to end well. Where bringing back A Nightmare On Elm street for a whole new audience might sound like a dream, executing a faithful yet original take on Wes Craven's seminal horror classic was never going to go down well with any fans of the genre. Particularly since Freddy Krueger isn't Freddy Krueger without Robert Englund wearing the glove, and 2010's remake soldiered on despite him not being on board.
That's not even the worst part, since 2010 was the year that directer decided to make Freddy a pitiable character before revealing he was far, far worse than the original take as he was a full blown !*$%.
Needless to say, fans were not impressed with the tired take on classic material, since we've already got one timelessly excellent Elm Street movie and a whole host of sequels to pick from. Not that that's stopping the industry from taking another stab at a remake again soon, mind, but 2010's attempt at bringing Krueger back to fame is best left forgotten.
