10 Most Disappointing Horror Movie Sequels

6. Leatherface: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3

It Chapter 2
New Line Cinema

The third outing from Leatherface is not necessarily the worst in the franchise, but it is the most disappointing.

Before you get too heated and begin to have flashbacks to the atrocity that was Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation (with of course, that performance by Matthew McConaughey), I would be swift to remind you, dearest reader, that it was not a disappointing film. No no, it was just absolutely bonkers, and downright bad.

The reason why TCM III takes the spot on this list is because it was the immediate follow up to the brilliant TCM II. Gone was the zany humour, gore and character development, and instead we were greeted with a dull rehash of the first Texas Chainsaw film without a drop of bloody charm.

Even Aragorn couldn’t save this terribly disappointing instalment.
