10 Most Disappointing MCU Moments

Though it was widely expected that Avengers: Infinity War would kick off with Thanos (Josh Brolin) decimating the Nova Corps' home planet Xandar and making off with the Power Stone, this event actually ended up happening off-screen.

To the chagrin of many fans, Infinity War instead opened with Thanos having already acquired the Power Stone, which he'd already done a week prior, and quickly scooping up the Space Stone while killing both Loki (Tom Hiddleston) and Heimdall (Idris Elba).

It's a terrific scene, no question, but robbing fans of the opportunity to see Thanos inflict some planet-wide damage was rather disappointing, especially as it would've illustrated at a macro level just how dangerous the big purple guy really was.

The Russos later stated that they did initially plan to include the scene, but ultimately felt it was redundant and dragged the movie's pacing down.

Even so, fans are hopeful that we might get to see the scene play out in the future if Marvel Studios ever forges ahead with a Novo solo movie.
