5. Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice

Just like Suicide Squad, DC’s other big film of 2016 managed to smash its way to a huge box office profit of $873.3 million despite scathing reviews and a paltry 27% Rotten Tomatoes rating.

And just like Suicide Squad, DC fans took to the interwebs to voice their dismay even going so far as to suggest that Dawn of Justice’s underwhelming reviews were part of some sort of paid review conspiracy spearheaded by Marvel to bring their competitor down. Say what you want about DC fans, but you could never accuse them of not being loyal.

To be fair to both critics and fans, Dawn of Justice wasn’t all that great but it wasn’t exactly the bucket of steaming excrement some would have you believe either.

Sure, it must’ve stung Snyder, Affleck, Cavill and Co but the fact enough people went to see it to rank it amongst the highest grossing films of the year should soothe the burn a bit.
