7. Bob Hoskins - Super Mario Bros.
Bob Hoskins was one of our most celebrated actors, able to walk the line of terrifying tough guy in Unleashed to silly shoe store owner in Mermaids, to a little bit of both in Who Framed Roger Rabbit. However, if you were to have asked him which movie he regretted doing the most before his death, it would 100% be Super Mario Bros.
No matter how much we all hate this movie, that will never surpass just how much Hoskins despised working on it. In an interview with The Guardian in 2007, he called working on Super Mario Bros. was a "f**king nightmare." He even went as far as mentioning that it was the worst job he ever had in his entire career, which is a shame because when he took on the role, he was very hopeful for the film.
Unfortunately, the final project was just a mess. The colorful and bright Mushroom Kingdom was replaced with a Blade Runner rip-off style city, Dennis Hopper's King Koopa was weird hybrid of Dr. Evil and Donald Trump and the iconic Italian duo's relationship wasn't even made clear! Were they brothers or father and son?
