10 Most Emotional Moments From Star Wars: The Force Awakens

7. Han Solo, Surrogate Father

Whilst the most tragic part of The Force Awakens is the fact that Han and Leia's son has been lost to the Dark Side of the Force, that's not to say that we don't get to see plenty of Han as a father figure. The bond between Rey and Han is a joy to watch, with the young scavenger holding the famed scoundrel on a pedestal based upon his legendary status both as a member of the Rebel Alliance and as a roguish space pirate. Han, seeing so much promise in the young Rey takes him under her wing, partly because she clearly operates on a similar wavelength to him, and partly because he can see there's clearly greatness within her. The giddy excitement with exudes from Rey at the prospect of working alongside the iconic duo of Han and Chewie hits home in just how revered Solo is. But on the flip side, Han radiates when talking to Rey and the fatherly instincts come out; instincts that bring out the sense of tragedy that Han has about not being able to help his offspring.
