Inside Out is full of moving moments. Many films tackle like to keep their movies fun and happy, not wanting their audience to get too upset, however Pixar with Inside Out showed that moments of sadness are not only necessary for everyone to feel, but are needed to understand true happiness.

After Riley’s parents confront after she comes home from an attempted run away, Riley breaks down and finally confesses missing her home in Minnesota. The scene is both all too familiar and heart-wrenching as Riley begins to let out all her worries and fears, beginning to feel once again, and her parents respond with kindness and understanding. It’s scenes like this that really show Pixar’s understanding of a healthy relationship between parent and child, and the child with themselves.
