https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ng2Nw5wfq18 In many ways, Brian Pillman's death well before his time was one of the first tragic deaths in wrestling, arguably being the first to establish the morbid precedent expected of the industry today. Now, Brian Pillman isn't exactly the most memorable WWF superstar, in fact, his tenure in the company never really took off due to injuries and other problems, he was more of an on-screen character or manager than anything else. His most notable moment in the company was the controversial 'Pillman's got a gun' angle on Raw, in which Pillman threaten to shoot Austin and uttered the word fuck on live television. Pillman's video tribute highlighted every adversity that he'd faced since his youth; multiple throat polyps as a child, athletic bias due to his size, a driving accident which caused his ankle to be fused in multiple positions so he could wrestle. But as inspiring as the music was and his tales of courage and persistence are, Pillman died before he cemented a memorable legacy in wrestling, not to mention he left behind a loving wife and several children. It's hard to come across a sadder story than that of Brian Pillman's. He tried, tried and tried, but life seemed determined to keep Brian Pillman down. The tribute tried to celebrate the life and legacy of Brian Pillman, though the result is more tragic and macabre rather than uplifting or joyful.
