10 Most Entertaining Bad Guys In Action Movie History

4. Stansfield (Léon: The Professional)

It would be a cardinal sin to make a list like this one without including at least one of Gary Oldman's signature miscreants. There was a time when Oldman was to bad guys what Sean Bean is to getting killed before the final credits role. It wasn't even really a choice for casting agents. "You need a believable villain? Let me get you Gary's number." Oldman reinvents himself in his role as corrupt policeman Stansfield, playing the character with a subtle menace that starts to seep out of his eyes as the story progresses. He's able to be extraordinarily unnerving, using only a lilting voice and a glimmer of sadism in his expressions. ending in a beautiful crescendo of despicable psychosis. And although he may be restraining himself a bit more than he did in True Romance or The Fifth Element, he manages a darkly comic undertone through it all that makes his performance a joy to watch time and time again.
