Hollow Earth's debut has already made it onto this list, but things got even better in the land down under when Kong made it to his ancestral homestead. Audiences were already used to Kong being the King of Skull Island, but this was a whole new landscape to rule over, and it was solidified after he discovered an axe to wield and a throne to sit on.

Kong entered into a massive throne room with a great design and an epic sense of scale. There, he found a weapon fit for a King and discovered that placing it into the ground allowed it to retain atomic energy, making it stronger. The concept of an axe that charges energy may be a little goofy, but its power put Kong at equal footing with Godzilla, which was sorely needed.

While the Titan's development was by no means near Shakespearian proportion, there was still some excellent character-building for King Kong here, as his quest to find home was the driving force behind his time in the film, and finally discovering somewhere he could belong was a big change for him.
