10 Most Epic Moments From Godzilla Vs. Kong
6. King Vs King Round One
This is what people came - or stayed at home - to see, and it's safe to say that the movie delivered on the spectacle. The film's trailer had already exposed a lot of what happened in this initial fight. Still, seeing it play out was a lot of fun, and it was balanced in the right way.
On their journey toward the Hollow Earth entrance, Kong, Apex and the human characters were intercepted by the titular beastie. He almost sullied the showdown in an instant as he flipped the ship holding Kong over and almost drowned the great ape.
Thankfully, Nathan - Alexander Skarsgard - released Kong in time, and the titular pair went on to have a fantastic encounter. It involved a tonne of collateral damage, some great underwater combat, and an interesting climactic strategy that saw Kong and the humans play dead to convince Godzilla to leave.
The fight wasn't as epic as their final battle - mainly since the majority of it was underwater - but this was a good decision, as it gave viewers a glimpse into the coming showdown whilst still delivering some satisfying knocks.
