Pettigrew’s servitude to Lord Voldemort was a result of fear rather than loyalty. His admiration of James and Sirius whilst he was at school became the foundation for his loyalty to the Dark Lord, for he was always attracted to those who were more talented and powerful than he was.

In addition to revealing the whereabouts of Lily and James to Voldemort, Pettigrew murdered a street full of muggles in the process of faking his own death, which in turn led to Sirius being incorrectly sent to Azkaban for thirteen years. Yet Pettigrew’s most prominent role is in The Goblet of Fire, where (with the help of Barty Crouch Junior) he returns Voldemort to his full strength.

His only redeeming quality is the mercy he shows Harry in Malfoy Manor in The Deathly Hallows. Unfortunately for him, this leads to his immediate death.
