10 Most Exciting New Additions To The MCU
9. Michael B. Jordan As Erik Killmonger
After Chadwick Boseman made an impressive debut in Captain America: Civil War, anticipation for his solo outing has positively pocketed. And the more we learn about the project the more it becomes the most anticipated of the MCU films. No small part of that excitement is due to director Ryan Coogler bringing along his favorite leading man, Michael B. Jordan.
That's right, Jordan survived the failure of Josh Trank's Fantastic Four only to return to a much more interesting Marvel movie. He'll abandon his usual heroic persona to portray Black Panther's most formidable enemy, Erik Killmonger.
Recent plot rumors suggest that Killmonger will be teaming up with an unknown villain to overthrow T'Challa as king of Wakanda (most likely Andy Serkis' Ulysses Klaue since he's kicking about). But he doesn't really need the help: in the comics, Killmonger is one of the few warriors who can physically go toe-to-toe with Black Panther. Given the amount of muscle Jordan packed on for Creed, it's safe to say he's ready to give Boseman a good fight.
Jordan has always been an incredibly charming performer but it will be interesting to see him abandon that likability for a villainous role. While Marvel has stumbled before with their villains, the past results of Jordan and Coogler's collaborations suggest they're cooking up something special.
