10 X-Men Movie Moments That Totally Ruled

3. Nightcrawler€™s Assault On The White House (X2: X-Men United)

20th Century Fox20th Century FoxThe second entry in the series has one of the best opening scenes of any comic book adaptation, and it€™s one of the most inventive action sequences to grace the X-Men films. Fans clamoured for the inclusion of fan favourite Nightcrawler after the success of the original X-Men, and his first appearance was worth the wait, even though it has proven to be one of his only spotlighted scenes in the franchise. Nightcrawler€™s ability to teleport may not be one of the most destructive mutant powers, but it wreaks havoc on the White House, and it sends Secret Service agents scattering after multiple assailants while Kurt takes them out one by one. Although the overuse of slow motion owes a debt to The Matrix, it€™s immensely satisfying to see Nightcrawler finally get his moment in the sun, and the dramatic sound of Mozart€™s Requiem adds a certain grandeur to the scene. It still stands out, after all these years.
