10 Most Gruesome Deaths From Kids' Movies

This animated Disney classic is famous for its stunning visuals, environmental themes, and adorable central characters. However, the film is also well-known for the tragically heartbreaking death of Bambi's mother, a death scene which remains infamous amongst adult and child audiences alike.

Shot by a hunter as she tries to protect her son, Bambi's mother's death is highly realistic, but nonetheless upsetting. While, first and foremost, this death scene is a moving condemnation of violent, anthropogenic activist, the segment is also surprisingly gruesome.

Although viewers do not actually see the fatal shot, we do hear and see Bambi's heart-wrenching response. Desperately crying out for his mother, yet failing to find her, Bambi becomes deeply distressed. Although the doe's death remains unseen, it is easy to work out the grisly, unnecessary fate that befell Bambi's mother.

While the actual death is technically offscreen, this remains a brutal and realistic portrayal of the bloody relationship between human hunters and nature's animals.
