10 Most Gruesome Zombie Movie Deaths

8. Erland - Dead Snow

As a rule, it's best to keep away from windows and doors in zombie movies. Hapless movie nerd Erland (Jeppe Beck Laursen) learns this the hard way in 2009's Norwegian comedy-horror film, Dead Snow. Beset by Nazi zombies (!) in a frozen wilderness, a gang of friends hunker down in a remote log cabin.

After successfully (give or take) fending off the Nazi zombie horde's attacks, the group hole up in one of the cabin's rooms, backs to the window behind them. And it's Erland who is unfortunate enough to bear the brunt of the zombies' second incursion - smashing through the window, the zombies grab Erland. The big guy puts up a mighty struggle - with his friends valiantly attempting to pull him free - but those long-dead hands aren't giving up their prize anytime soon. Rotten fingers dig deep into Erland's face, gouging out (or in) his eyeballs; splitting his head in two. There's a reason we blockade the doors and windows, guy.
