6. The Last Unicorn (1982)
I don't know where this came from, or why it exists (I do really... it's based on a book of the same name). To be perfectly honest with you, though, I hadn't even heard of it until couple of years back, when - intrigued by its reputation as a fully-fledged nightmare disguised as something that might "entertain children" - I tracked it down. Its reputation is justified:
The Last Unicorn is totally disturbing. The plot concerns a unicorn who is the last of her kind (duh), and her magical quest to find out why. The quest is insane on several levels. Firstly, this movie has some seriously bizarre and overtly sexual moments scattered throughout: there's a part where a tree smothers one of the character with, like, lots and lots of boobies. I don't know how else to describe that: that's what happens. Throw in big themes like "the cruelty of mankind" and some questionably violent moments, and this is no
My Little Pony. But I think it might be good on a lot of levels. It just should've been ages 18 and up or something.
