10 Most Hotly-Anticipated Historical Films Still To Be Released In 2015
10. True Story
Due to be released imminently, "True Story" is a Rupert Goold-directed film that is based on the memoirs of Michael Finkel - a journalist whose identity is used as a cover-up of his own by murderer Christian Longo, a man on the FBI's most-wanted list. Longo (James Franco) is wanted by the FBI for murdering his wife and three children in Oregon in December 2001, and he has been hiding under the identity of Finkel (Jonah Hill) while on the run. Following Longo's capture, Finkel begins communicating with Longo - with the latter hoping that by telling "the real story" (hence the name of the film) he would win acquittal. However, once convicted, Longo admits his guilt to Finkel through various interviews - and this entire story lays the basis for the plotline. Written by David Kajganich and directed by English theatre director Goold, True Story is due for release at the end of April - and looks like it could be a corker, with Hill said to be brilliant in an unusual straight, non-comedic role.
