10 Most Hotly-Anticipated Historical Films Still To Be Released In 2015

9. The 33

When 33 Chilean miners were stuck down San José Copper-Gold Mine for 69 days from August until October 2010, everyone knew immediately this epic tale of survival would make for a brilliant film script one day - and hopefully writers Mikko Alanne and José Rivera have delivered on that. "The 33" stars the brilliant Antonio Banderas as Mario "Super Mario" Sepúlveda, one of the trapped men who sent videos to the rescuers to notify them of the miners' condition, and is directed by Patricia Riggen (of "Lemonade Mouth" fame). This story, set in the Atacama Desert - some 28miles from civilisation - should make for a brilliant screenplay, with drama guaranteed as 33 men are buried 700metres underground following a serious cave-in. However, one fear is that the screenplay will be far too dramatised and focused on the cave-in rather than tell the in-depth stories of the personal survivors, although the appearance of Banderas on the cast list should ensure this film is well worth watching.
