Years before he became a horror filmmaker, best known for The Blackcoat's Daughter, Longlegs, and most recently The Monkey, Osgood Perkins was an actor, with appearances in the likes of Psycho II - playing a younger Norman Bates (who was played by his father, Anthony Perkins) - Legally Blonde, Not Another Teen Movie, and Star Trek (2009).

Most recently, Perkins gave himself a cameo in The Monkey, showing up for a brief but unforgettable role as Chip, the mutton chop-clad uncle of twins Hal and Bill (Christian Convery).

Chip makes it abundantly clear that he isn't terribly thrilled about becoming the twins' legal guardian following the death of their mother, and if his awkward chit-chat with his nephews isn't hilarious enough, it's capped by his outrageously sudden demise.

After Bill winds the monkey's key, we instantly smash cut to Chip's funeral, where it's revealed that he was killed in a freak accident, being stampeded by horses while camping.

Better yet, the undertaker described the remains as looking like "someone dropkicked a cherry pie" - and Perkins even shows us the visual for good measure.

If you're gonna show up in your own horror movie, why not give yourself an insanely deranged death scene?
