10 Most Insulting Movie Remakes Of All Time
8. Planet Of The Apes (2001)
The original Planet of the Apes is one of the coolest movies of all time. Not only does it have talking apes, but it also has one of the best twists in movie history, a twist that shocked audiences worldwide in 1968. After its release, Hollywood being Hollywood churned out a number of sequels, some of which weren't half bad.
After a while, the movie franchise was left alone, with a remake thought to be completely unnecessary.
Sadly, Tim Burton decided otherwise and created one of the most pointless remakes of all time, especially seen as everybody already knew the surprise ending.
Then, just to add insult to injury, the franchise was rebooted completely, with Rise of the Planet of the Apes released in 2011, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes in 2014, and War for the Planet of the Apes in 2017.
Now that's a lot of remakes.
