10 Most Insulting Movie Remakes Of All Time
5. Charlie And The Chocolate Factory (2005)

Roald Dahl's books are difficult to adapt into movies. Firstly, they are loved and adored by children and adults all over the world, so the pressure to get it right is intense. Secondly, sometimes books just need to be plain old books and not turned into movies.
Over the years, there have been some successful adaptations and some not so successful adaptions. In 1971, Dahl's most famous book, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory turned into Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory starring Gene Wilder as the chocolate man himself. The movie was a success, although Dahl hated it.
In 2005, Tim Burton (that guy again) decided to remake the movie with his muse Johnny Depp as Willy Wonka. The casting was all wrong, with Depp channeling a cross between the Cheshire Cat and Michael Jackson. The movie bombed, and the book was tarnished forever. That might be a little dramatic.
