10 Most Intense Comic Book Movie Performances Ever

4. Hugh Jackman As Wolverine

Brian Cox is a legit thespian and Michael Fassbender is on his way to that point, but all over performances in the X-Men series pale in comparison to Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. The entire franchise has essentially been built around the character since his career-defining part in the first film, and that's thanks to the Australian actor's performance. Logan is a difficult part to play. In may way he's an archetypal gruff loner with a mysterious past, a character who has appeared in...well, all of fiction since time immemorial. Wolverine takes all of that to the nth degree, his brooding and, powers and history are more heightened than most. Hugh Jackman took cold showers every day before filming the first X-Men film. He gets introduced during a cage fighting scene. He's technically been killed multiple times on screen, before healing himself. He's acted getting metal bonded onto his bones multiple times. There's rarely been a more intense comic book performance.
