While Blue Ruin showed that Jeremy Saulnier is a director to keep an eye on, Green Room really proved that he's a serious filmmaker with some unique and interesting ideas. Not many would set a thriller in a small area like a green room, but Saulnier manages to make it less of a place where celebrities and VIPs hang out and more like a prison.

The story revolves around a punk band who end up playing a gig in a Neo-Nazi bar due to their original gig being cancelled. After finding a dead body in their green room, things quickly take a turn for the worst as the band try to escape the bar and its many violent patrons.

Saulnier has an amazing cast at his disposal, including the late Anton Yelchin, regular collaborator Macon Blair and the brilliant Imogen Poots. However, this movie truly belongs to Patrick Stewart, who plays the leader of the Neo-Nazi gang.

Watching him portray this vile character is strange at first, but once audiences are able to see how much fun he's having with the role, they'll be able to get on board and enjoy what he does with the character in this extremely well done film.
