Anton Corbijn might be better known as a music director, working with the likes of Metallica, Depeche Mode and Nirvana during his illustrious career. However, the 64-year old has also made a handful of films, including the incredible A Most Wanted Man.

For this to be the last movie of the late, great Phillip Seymour Hoffman, makes it a bit of a sad watch at first. However, once you're able to put that aside and enjoy Hoffman's acting tour de force, you'll absolutely love his performance. He plays the role of a dishevelled, yet determined German government agent who is hell bent on turning a political refugee into an informant.

Once we get to know all the characters involved in the story, things pick up quickly and all sorts of betrayal and backstabbing occurs, leading to an almighty conclusion that will have audiences wishing there was sequel somewhere down the line. While that sequel isn't likely to happen, we can still enjoy this fantastic espionage thriller for all it brings to the genre.
