10 Most Intense Western Duels Ever

7. For A Few Dollars More (1965)

Tombstone Doc Holliday Final Duel
United Artists

For A Few Dollars More was the second film in the "Dollars" or "Man with No Name" trilogy, but it is often regarded as the best of the three given its intensity and complexity, which made it a particularly good western film.

The final scene begins with the playing of chimes meant to forestall the inevitable climax of the shootout, which finally comes to a conclusion as the men face off with one another in a classic depiction of a standoff.

Eastwood comes onto the scene and evens things out before sitting to watch the duel finally come to pass. This scene was one of Sergio Leone's best depictions of a western duel, which is saying something seeing as it was his bread and butter back in the days of the spaghetti western.

When the guns are finally drawn and a single shot rocks out, the bad guy is on the ground leading to Eastwood's only comment, "Bravo."
