10 Most Inventive Chase Sequences In Slasher Movies
3. Tucker And Dale Vs Evil - A Huge Misunderstanding
Tucker and Dale Vs Evil is an incredible movie that acknowledges all the classic and cliché slasher tropes and subsequently sticks its middle finger up at them!
The concept is that a group of stereotypical slasher teens find themselves at the mercy of a stereotypical set of hillbilly murderers, but the twist is that the whole thing is just a misunderstanding.
Hilariously, Tucker and Dale are as far away from being axe-wielding maniacs as you can get. Through more and more ludicrous misunderstandings, the teens are accidentally killed in horrific and brutal ways while they themselves attempt to kill our two protagonists.
The first murder in the movie takes one of the most iconic chase sequence gimmicks and completely flips it so that instead of fear, the audience is left laughing through tears.
When Tucker and Dale rescue Alison, one of the teens, from drowning, the group of antagonistic kids interpret it as the men kidnapping her - and that's when the gory action begins.
While Dale and Alison hit it off inside a cabin, Tucker accidentally chainsaws through a bee's nest. At that moment, Alison's friends, led by Mitch, arrive at the cabin to confront the men.
Hilariously, the chase sequence starts because Tucker comes running around the corner frantically waving the chainsaw around. Mitch, misunderstanding completely, starts running through the woods as Tucker seemingly follows him. Unfortunately for Mitch, he get's distracted looking behind himself at Tucker, and runs straight into a branch and impales himself, dying almost instantly.
