10 Most Inventive Chase Sequences In Slasher Movies

4. Hell Fest - The Haunted House Attraction

It Follows Background
Lionsgate

Hell Fest went under the radar when it first came out in 2018. It boasted a cast of pretty much unknown actors and a director that only had a few credits to his name, and although it is not a masterpiece of cinema, it truly is a fun Halloween watch for slasher fans.

The flick's plot sees a group of college students, led by good girl Natalie, attend a travelling, Halloween theme park named Hell Fest. But also in attendance is a killer named The Other, that dresses up as one of the park's actors and uses the terrifying setting to murder guests without drawing any suspicion. The concept would make any fans of Halloween attractions paranoid to attend their local scare-fests, and the movie utilizes this paranoia brilliantly.

In a moment where the movie perfectly uses this concept, Natalie and her two friends are walking around one of the haunted houses laughing and joking about how predictable all the scares are. A girl, that we saw earlier on insult the park for not being scary enough, runs into the room now completely terrified and proceeds to hide behind the set dressing.

When The Other runs into the room, the girls, thinking it's part of the show, point out where the girl is hiding. Our main character's proceed to watch as The Other stabs and kills the victim he had been chasing through the park.

This chase scene is seen completely from an outsider's perspective, which while being completely new and original, also fits perfectly with the film's concept of making you second guess everything you see.

Lily thought it was about time she wrote Top Ten lists for people other than herself. She also owes her dog a lot of money so she thought it was about time to pay her dues. There is no tv show she likes that she hasn't seen at least twice.
