10 Most Ironic Scenes In DCEU History
4. "I'm A Friend Of Your Son's"
The very title of Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice set the movie up for contradiction. The first part promised a fight between two of the most famous comic book characters of all time, while separated by just a colon, the second part teased their coming together as a team.
In fairness, there wasn’t a soul watching the movie that didn’t expect Bruce Wayne and Clark Kent’s fight to be over before the movie’s credits rolled, but just how that happened was nothing short of insulting. The Martha scene is one of the most infamous, and widely regarded as one of the worst comic book movie scenes in recent memory.
The entire premise of the BVS was built around Bruce Wayne not trusting Superman, and believing that Supes needed to die in order to ensure Earth’s safety. If there was even a 1% chance of Superman turning, then they had to treat it as an absolute certainty.
And yet minutes after learning nothing more than the name of his enemy's mother, the man trying to kill Superman was introducing himself to Martha Kent as “a friend of your son’s”. So, we’re just going to forget the last 90 minutes and all those Kryptonite weapons are we, Bruce?
