10 Most Jaw-Dropping Shots In MCU History
6. Avengers: Infinity War - Cap Stands Against Thanos
By the time it was finally released in theaters, Avengers: Infinity War didn't so much feel like a movie as much as it did a cultural event. With a plot that had been almost 20 films in the making, every single mission for Earth's Mightiest Heroes had all been building towards Thanos. The Mad Titan did end up getting exactly what he wanted, but our favorite heroes didn't go down without a fight.
For many diehard fans of the series, a few of the scenes may be hard to watch, from the split second of Iron Man almost dying to the reckless death of Vision, but the real determination of the team comes from Captain America.
Originally off the grid for most of the film, Cap asserts himself as the leader of the team throughout the fight on Earth, as they face down Thanos' army without breaking a sweat.
However, once Thanos arrives to retrieve the Mind Stone from Vision, they are clearly outmatched, as the Titan throws the Avengers around like rag dolls. Though it shouldn't be possible at this juncture, the one shot of Steve Rogers holding back the hand of Thanos as he desperately tries to protect the fate of the universe speaks to his willingness to never back down when faced with a threat.
The fate of our heroes may have changed that day, but this display of strength shows just how determined the Avengers are at seeing every mission through to the end.
