Keeping within the opening stretch of Episode VI - Return of the Jedi for this next entry, but this time turning our attention towards the mechanical folks in the galaxy far, far away.

After C-3PO and R2-D2 are gifted to Jabba the Hutt as part of the plan to rescue Han Solo, the droids are introduced to EV-9D9, who was the supervisor of the crime lord's droid pool.

She'd also oversee the torture of various droids being held captive here, with poor Eightyem being one of the machines that were horrifically put through hell on-screen.

After upsetting Jabba, this protocol droid was ripped apart slowly by a torture rack, his limbs being shockingly yanked off right in front of the Hutt's newest interpreter, Threepio.

Had this been a humanoid creature, there's no way George Lucas and Richard Marquand would have gotten away with such a barbaric end in a film designed for viewers of all ages to enjoy. But the fact this was "just" a droid being awfully torn to pieces meant they could really show off just how merciless and cruel Jabba and his allies were early on in the final original trilogy movie.
