10 Most Messed Up Deaths In Star Wars: Original Trilogy
5. All Of Alderaan Is Wiped Out - Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope
An entire planet's worth of people being suddenly blown to smithereens is already about as dreadful and messed up as it gets. But what made the destruction of Alderaan and the people of that world even more appalling was the way this awful event went down.
After attempting to save her home from being destroyed by the Death Star during 1977's Star Wars by lying about the whereabouts of the Rebel Base, Grand Moff Wilhuff Tarkin revealed his own lie. Instead of sparing the lives of the people of Alderaan in exchange for this information, Tarkin just went ahead and demonstrated the power of the space station anyway.
In a moment that no doubt traumatised poor Leia, she was forced to watch as the super weapon's laser tore through a planet her own adoptive parents were on.
Her twin brother would at least avenge the millions of murders later on by taking out both the Death Star and Tarkin within it, but that still didn't bring back all those who perished whilst casually just going about their daily lives on the peaceful planet.
