10 Most Messed Up Deaths In Star Wars: Original Trilogy
3. Uncle Owen And Aunt Beru Are BURNED ALIVE - Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope
Though he very much wanted to get off the sandy rock he called home during the opening stages of 1977's Star Wars, Luke Skywalker still needed a bit of a push to leave Tatooine behind.
Well, he got exactly that... in the most horrific way imaginable.
After telling Obi-Wan Kenobi that he couldn't come with him to deliver Artoo to Alderaan and learn the ways of the Force because his family needed him on the desert world, Luke realised that that same family were now in danger.
The team had discovered that the Jawas who sold Artoo and Threepio to Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru had been attacked by stormtroopers. So, Luke assumed this meant they were probably heading to his home next.
Sure enough, that's precisely what happened. But nothing could prepare Luke for what he would find once he got back there.
With the homestead being set on fire by the savage Imperial troops, all that was left of Owen and Beru were their charred, skeletal remains. This film is rated U, in case you were wondering.
This graphic image of his loved ones having their flesh burned off was enough to convince him to leave this world behind, sure, but that nightmarish visual also most likely scarred him (and children watching this space opera) for life in the process.
