10 Most Meta MCU Moments Ever

4. "That Thing Does Not Obey The Laws Of Physics AT ALL"

MCU fans absolutely love to nitpick the general inconsistency of the franchise, especially as it pertains to each hero's power-set and the depiction of physics throughout.

This gets hilariously sent-up in Captain America: Civil War, when Cap throws his shield up into the air to cut through Spider-Man's webbing. A shook Spidey then shouts at him, "That thing does not obey the laws of physics at all!"

Considering that audiences basically just have to suspend their disbelief that Cap can do pretty much anything he wants with the shield - including improbably rebounding it like a frisbee and knocking men out without killing them - this was a fun way to let audiences know that they're in on the joke.

And having a character as smart and perceptive as Peter Parker be the one to verbalise it is just the icing on the cake. All Cap can say to him in response? "Look kid, there's a lot going on here that you don't understand." Too true.
