10 Most Nightmarish Horror Movie Monsters

3. The Man With The Fire In His Face - Insidious

The man with the fire in his face; lipstick-face demon; the red face demon; Darth Maul; however you want to refer to him, that demon is responsible for one of the most effective jump scares of all time.

We refer, of course, to the Sith-faced demon hovering over Patrick Wilson's shoulder in that one shot of Insidious. If we're honest, it's the only thing anyone really remembers Insidious for, and the reason that film did well enough to score as many sequels and reboots as it did. But what a scare! Barely glimpsed in the movie, the Red Face Demon is a great antagonist to the Lambert family, proving how much more less can be.

However one feels about the Insidious franchise, the Red Face Demon's big reveal is astonishingly well done - a horror movie demon which will get under your skin and stay there. When he's not lurking over your shoulder, that is.
