10 Most Overlooked Films Of This Decade
2. Enough Said (2013)
Many moviegoers dismiss rom-coms offhand, and that's understandable considering many of them are cynical trash, but now and again, one with substance arrives.
It should come as no surprise that Enough Said is among the exceptions to the rule, with the late, great James Gandolfini in the lead role. This was an apt send off for the actor, who has electric chemistry with co-star Julia Louis-Dreyfuss throughout.
Louis-Dreyfus's Eva develops a crush on Gandolfini's Albert and the pair start a relationship, but their union hits the rocks when she begins hearing terrible things about him from her friend, who happens to be Albert's ex-wife.
Enough Said works on virtually every level. It's a well-written comedy drenched in warmth and wisdom and the performances for its two leads make it far and away one of the best romance films of 2013.
