10 Most Overpowered Movie Characters Ever

5. Xenomorph

The Xenomorph is the terrifying alien of the Alien franchise, one of pop cultures best and most feared villains despite limited screen time and zero dialogue. Like a lot of good horror, Xenomorphs keep you guessing and rely on the fear of the unknown, lurking in the shadows to frighten you into making yourself vulnerable before their deadly strike.

If it bleeds, you can kill it, but good luck making it bleed. Xenomorph’s are incredibly swift with tough, thick hides and will pounce on you instantly. The only thing you can do is outmanoeuvre them like Ripley.

Of course, their overpowered nature is by design, playing into the symbolism of the creature. With their designs based of genitalia and their attacks causing the victim to become impregnated with more of the beasts, the original Alien movie was an allegory on rape and sexual assault; putting the characters in the ultimate state of fear and stripping them of all control.

This invulnerability transferred over brilliantly to gaming too, with Alien: Isolation arguably the best horror game of the generation. Unfortunately, poor sales means that a sequel is unlikely, so at least we know the Xenomorph’s one weakness: shareholders.
