10 Most Overrated Movies Of 2014 (So Far)

8. Mr. Peabody & Sherman

Rotten Tomatoes Score: 79%

Chances were that animated flick Mr Peabody & Sherman would wind up as a relative bust, what with its dated source material and unfamiliar characters, and yet the final movie turned out to be surprisingly enjoyable affair. That€™s not to say that this animated flick is anything special, which is what the majority of reviews would have you believe. 79% on Rotten Tomatoes puts Mr. Peabody and Sherman above Pixar's Monsters University (78%). Huh?

The biggest problem with this movie, then, is that it spends so much more time developing an incredibly complicated and ultimately unnecessary story that much of the movie is spent trying to work out what€™s actually happening. For adults, this might have worked out fine, giving them something to chew over, but consider the target audience for a second €“ kids €“ who are bound to find much of the movie baffling. Average entertainment value all round.
