10 Most Overrated Movies On IMDb's Top 250

4. Untouchable (#38)

Coco Pixar

This is another film you may not have heard of, but which still made enough waves to get a really high spot on the Top 250. “Intouchables”, as it’s known in France, where it was made, is the story of a disabled man and his caregiver who build a lifelong friendship. It was released to enormous acclaim in France, presumably where the film built up its enormous 540,000 8/10 or higher reviews on IMDb.

But when the film started screening in the UK, critics weren’t so kind. The film is sappy and overemotional, and relies on a cheap opening where the characters are chased by police to keep you hooked, making you think there’s going to be something exciting happening in the movie - when in fact nothing really does.

It’s also a bit of a retread of Driving Miss Daisy - a rich white person learns love because of a poor black man. If you want that kind of story, why not just watch that?
