10 Most Polarising Movies Of 2017

5. Justice League

Terminator Genisys

There were reasons to be positive about how Justice League would turn out in the run-up to the film. Wonder Woman had restored optimism to the series unofficially known as the DCEU, and Joss Whedon's post-production insight should have been an asset to the project.

The hope turned out to be false when the movie arrived as tonal mess of generic superheroism, but it has plenty of staunch supporters. Many fans are happy with the way the main heroes were portrayed and felt Justice League was a big improvement on the like of Suicide Squad and Batman v Superman.

While most critics would agree Zack Snyder's team-up turned out better than his previous DCEU offerings, some didn't necessarily mean that as a compliment. It's almost as though they were saying being kicked in the crotch is better than being shot in the head.

Others were more earnest when pointing out Justice League's positives and hailing it as a step in the right direction for the franchise as a whole, but nobody can really decide whether Snyder or Whedon is to thank for that.
