10 Most Powerful (Fictional) Women Of 2015

5. Harley Quinn

Furiosa Mad Max Fury Road
Warner Bros

Harley Quinn has been a favourite since her introduction in the 1990's animated Batman series. Since then, the character has featured- and starred- in a number of comics including stand alone titles. Although initially playing second fiddle to the Joker, Harley has recently come into her own, particularly following the line-wide reboot of the New 52.

With DC promising to shake things up again following the current Convergence storyline, Harley is one of the few characters that will not only keep her ongoing solo title, but also star in a new series alongside Power Girl. Together with her continued presence in New Suicide Squad, this makes Harley one of the most popular and widely featured female characters in the DC universe.

Harley is also one of the few well-known characters set to appear in next year's Suicide Squad film, second only to long-term boyfriend/abuser Joker. Surrounded by lesser-known characters like Slipknot and Boomerang, and one of only two female members on the team, it seems likely that Margot Robbie's character will be front and centre of the upcoming film.

With a (nearly) useless degree in English literature and a personal trainer qualification he's never used, Freddie spends his times writing things that he hopes will somehow pay the rent. He's also a former professional singer, and plays the saxophone and ukulele. He's not really used to talking about himself in the third person, and would like to stop now, thanks.
