There's something about coming-of-age movies that makes them insanely rewatchable. Stand By Me is a great example of this, and so is a more recent Stephen King adaptation: It: Chapter One.
Maybe it's because these stories are so thoroughly relatable. Okay, so most people didn't have to deal with an evil shape-shifting clown while growing up, but everyone faced demons of some kind while coming of age.
It is also great to revisit because it's an inch-perfect recreation of the 1980s. Anyone who grew up during the decade will no doubt relish the chance to revisit this setting time and time again.
Moreover, the dynamic between the Losers Club members never fails to strike an emotional chord as a bittersweet reminder that some of the closest and purest friendships you'll ever have come during childhood. And then there's Bill SkarsgÄrd's Pennywise. How many times do you need to watch It before he isn't terrifying?
