Terminator 2: Judgment Day was, at the time, the perfect sequel.

The second entry in the now-tired franchise had everything - groundbreaking special effects, quotable catchphrases, epic action setpieces and surprising pathos.

With some movies on this list, it's difficult to pinpoint exactly why they hold up after so many repeat playbacks, but with Terminator 2 it's no mystery.

James Cameron and Arnold Schwarzenegger absolutely nailed the action movie formula with this stellar sequel, and if we had access to Skynet's time-travel technology, we wouldn't go back and change a thing about it.

Anyone who doesn't feel like shedding a tear every time Arnie's extended thumb disappears into that pool of molten metal has the emotions of a T-800.
