It's both a love letter to the genre and one of its biggest critics, shining a spotlight on all the clichés horror fans love to hate.
The plot is lifted from a horror movie for dummies guide; five friends isolated in a cabin in the middle of nowhere, a creepy cellar filed with all sorts of supernatural and occult artefacts, and a sinister evil force hell bent on the group's demise. The big difference, however, is that their fate is orchestrated by a shadowy organisation that have planned every step.
The group don't want to split up in classic horror fashion? Pump a chemical in to the cabin to alter their decision making. Some of the survivors are going to escape?
