10 Most Ridiculous Horror Adversaries In Movie History

6. Lamp - Amityville Horror 4: The Evil Escapes (1989)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d-_UthFNn00 Although the Stephen King Family Guy joke we mentioned in the intro pokes gentle fun at the great horror novelist's affinity for inanimate objects gone bad, Stephen King has - thankfully - never sunk as low has having an actual lamp as a terrifying adversary. The fourth movie in the The Amityville Horror franchise did, though because, hey, we've made it to the fourth movie and why not have a killer lamp? The lamp in question (brass, if you're wondering) begins its rampage by scaring the wits out of a few priests, though it soon winds up in the house of a widow and her family. From there, the lamp goes insane, gifting tetanus upon one poor, unsuspecting character (oooo!) whilst it flashes itself on and off from time to time in an attempt to scare others. It's a terrible adversary in every sense, mainly because it's a lamp, and also because it doesn't do anything remotely scary. Underestimated? Misunderstood? No matter: the lamp's reign of chaos is eventually put to an end when the "horrific" entity is hurled out of a window.
